Jul 9, 2018 | News, Ouray Colorado Condos, Ouray Vacation Rentals

Summer’s a great time to visit Ouray, especially because of the beautiful scenery and exciting things to do. But if you don’t like 4-wheeling or fishing, then you can go to the summer events in Ouray instead. There’s lots of events in town for you to check out.

On July 10th, you can check out an event called “Uranium Mining in Southwestern Colorado,” to learn about how uranium mining affected the landscape and the miners. This event is part of a series called Evenings of History. If you’re a history buff, you’ll love the Evenings of History events. The expert Pat Curran will be speaking at the Wright Opera House form 7:30pm to 9pm.

If you like ghost stories and haunted houses, then you have to check out this next event. On July 21st, there will be a guided cemetery walking tour of Cedar Hill Cemetery. The tour can teach you about the graveyard’s history and the different people buried there. Glenda Moore will lead the tour, which takes place from 9pm-11pm.

If you want to hike around the gorgeous Colorado scenery while learning about the history of the railroads, then you can join the Corkscrew Railroad and Turntable Hike on July 14th. The event is led by the Ouray County Museum Director, Don Paulson. He’ll be able to answer all your questions about the railroads in Colorado. The hike starts at 9am and goes until 3pm.

Ouray’s full of fascinating things to do. You can never be bored here!
