If you’re going to be in Ouray for the 4th of July, then you’re going to love the way Ouray celebrates the holiday. These Ouray traditions have been around since the early 1900’s, and they’re not going away anytime soon! You have to stick around for these events.
The Ouray Volunteer Fire Department Fourth-of-July Kickoff Concert takes place on July 3rd. It’s the perfect way to kick off festivities for the holiday. The bands “You Knew Me When” and “Ulterior Motive,” will be playing. This is the perfect event to meet people, relax, and celebrate the holiday. Tickets are five dollars, and there is food and drink at the event.
On July 4th, Ouray will have a Main Street Parade starting at 10am. Floats and party groups will go down Main Street to show off their floats and their 4th of July spirit. There’s plenty to see, so don’t miss this Ouray tradition.
The Ouray Volunteer Fire Department will have their annual water fight at Main Street and 6th Avenue. This is a showstopping event that everyone loves! Two teams will battle for victory by using fire hoses and freezing water. Try to stay dry!
