For those of you fortunate to have today off, the Independence Day festivities are already happening in and around Ouray. If you’re anywhere near The Wright Opera House, we have a few suggestions to check out for the holiday.
The first of four Gunfight at High Noon or Dancin’ the Six Shooter Two Step performances kicks off tonight at 7 pm. Dartmouth Defraud will arrive in Ouray as the silent partner of slain bank owner Colonel Fondue. When land grab plans go awry, Deputy Drawdown finds his job much harder to do! If you can’t make it to tonight’s performance, additional performances will be held on the 10th, the 17th, and the 24th.
Tomorrow, The Wright Opera House will screen the 2000 American epic The Patriot starring Mel Gibson as peaceful farmer Benjamin Martin and the late Heath Ledger as his son Gabriel Edward Martin. The movie begins at 5 pm, just in time to get in a patriotic mood before watching all of the spectacular fireworks shows set to happen throughout Ouray.
Will you be attending any Independence Day themed events tonight or tomorrow? Feel free to share some of your suggestions in the comments!
